Premieres leave the remaining games 'Phee-Burnley' kicks Jan 12, 'Boat-Villa' 20 Jan
The Premier League confirmed the remaining program by the Manchester United-Burnley game. The match will be played on January 12, five days before the battle, and the other Manchester City-Aston Villa pair will kick off on January 20.
Both of them had a queue to play in the opening game of the season in September, but because Manchester United and Man City went to the European Cup in August. So the Premier League has the green light to give them more time to rest.
Competition this season is particularly tight because of the COVID outbreak. But Premier League clubs have a busy middle of the week in January.
That leaves Manchester United's game against Burnley scheduled for January 12, which will continue with Liverpool five days later.
Manchester United are entering the new year as they are on their way to the championship after they are three points behind Liverpool and have a game in hand.
The game at Manchester City against Villa will be queued for the match on January 20, between the game against Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion.
